Luana Zagato

Biographical Information

Luana is originally from Paranaiba, state of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. In 2018, she received her BS degree in Agronomy at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP-FEIS) where she was involved in research related to forage and pasture management. 

During her studies she completed several internships, including one at UNESP under the supervision of Dr. Leandro Coelho de Araujo at NEFORT - Nucleo de Estudos em Forrageiras Tropicais. Followed by two abroad in Minnesota. One with Bergen’s Greenhouses in Park Rapids, Minasota and another with Jeff Roessler at the University of Minnesota Saint Paul campus.  

In 2019 she completed a 6-month program as an exchange visitor, short-term scholar working with Dr. Jose Dubeux at the UF/IFAS North Florida REC in Marianna. During that time all activities were related to forage management. 

In March 2020 Luana began another 6-month program as an exchange visitor, short term scholar under the supervision of Dr. Brent Sellers at the UF/IFAS Range Cattle REC in Ona working on research related to pasture and rangeland weed management.
