After 36 years of service to the University of Florida/IFAS and Florida Agriculture, Dr. Paul Mislevy has retired. Dr. Mislevy's offical last day was January 31, 2007, however, having been awarded emeritis status, Dr. Mislevy will keep his office here at the center. He plans to come into the office once a week. On the afternoon of December 9, a retirement party was held in honor of Dr. Paul Mislevy, here at the Range Cattle REC (RCREC). Seventy-seven friends, producers, fellow researchers, and co-workers gathered to look back on his 36 years of service to the University of Florida/IFAS and Florida Agriculture and wish him the best in his retirement. Speakers included current Range Cattle REC Director, Dr. John Arthington; Dr. Herb Chapman, former RCREC Center Director who hired Dr. Mislevy November 1, 1971; Pat Hogue, Okeechobee County Extension Agent and South Florida Beef Forage Program Chair; Dr. Jerry Bennett, Chair of the Agronomy Department for the University of Florida; and Dr. Ann Blount, fellow Agronomist from North Florida REC in Marianna. The blessing for the meal was given by Father Vincent Clemente. Guests enjoyed a steak dinner, cake, and good fellowship.
