Her research emphasizes longleaf pine savanna restoration and prescribed fire management. Carolina received her Ph.D. in 2019 from Mississippi State University, where she studied community-level effects of wildlife mass mortality events and invasive species culling. Following her Ph.D., her postdoctoral research examined understory plant community responses to fire regimes in longleaf pine savannas and the effects of large-scale disturbances on ecosystem function.
