Biographical Information

Bianca Midori Souza Sekiya, is from Andradina, São Paulo State, Brazil, was born in 1995, the middle daughter of ranchers. She and her sisters were raised in the countryside. In 2013, Bianca began her Agronomy undergraduate program at São Paulo State University - Faculty of Agrarian Sciences and Technology in Dracena city. She will graduate with her bachelor's degree in December 2017 after she completes her internship at the Range Cattle Research & Education Center, in Ona.

During her undergraduate studies, Bianca completed activities at her university as a member of Grassland & Beef Cattle Research, Education, and Extension Group, called "NUPEE", working with crop-livestock-forest systems. She also attended Scientific Iniciation Programs studying leaves anatomy and nutritive value of Brachiaria brizantha on silvopastoral systems. After graduation she intends to continue studying and apply for a master's degree.

Bianca is completing a 4 month internship in the Soil and Water Sciences Program at Ona, under the advisement of Dr. Maria Silveira.
